I don't know about any specific myths, but there are always ways you can make immortality work. Maybe one could be a god, another could be favoured by a god or gods and granted immortality from said god/gods. Maybe an expedition leads someone to an ancient artifact that grants immortality. So many different things you could do.

I'm hoping to draw from several cultures. So far I've got an templer knight ( English first crusade I think) drinking from the holy grail. a cursed legionar ( first/ second century Roman ) and a Spartan ( Greek one of the three hundred ) who found his way out of Hades what I don't have and would like is a Samaria ( eighth centery) Japanese )and a Mongolian ( gangus Kong time frame) and I don'tknow some one just different

I'll look into it, and see what I can find. I really like the ideas you have so far, especially with the Holy Grail.

I figured out my samurai Japanese have a legend that if you eat a mermaids flesh that you are cursed to live forever. Supposedly a women who ate it lived to be 800 before she traveled the eightfull path to pass on to heaven. I'm thinking I can get the Spartan with Ambrosea the wine if the gods. Still having trouble with the other cultures

Here's something to check out.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genghis_Khan

I know it's a lot; key areas, I think, to look under are Birth and Religion (and according to another web article he was a Shamanist, so something else to look into). Also, look under Timeline. I found the last point rather interesting (1227). May be something there you could use.

Not at this point in time. However, if I do think of anything else, I will be sure to send it your way. :) Happy to hear I was able to help!

Your welcome, could always have it that the elixir of life is something like a drink form of the peaches, like a wine perhaps.

I'm not sure if you have one of them washed in the fountain of youth? Hebe was goddess of youth of the Greeks and Juventas identical to her in the Roman pantheon, they served the
nectar and ambrosia of the gods and goddesses, but it was not the drink that they served that made the gods youthful (although it probably helped to keep them immortal) it was Hebe who made them youthful, as she was believed to be able to make the old young again. I've always thought this substance made of the golden apples of the Hesperides which Gaia grew and gave to Hera and Zeus upon their marriage. Amaranth was a flower believed to grow on Mount Olympus which never died, sacred to Artemis.

The Amrit and Soma drinks of immortality in dharmic faiths. There are also chiranjivi : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiranjeevin

There is also Panacea a Greek goddess of the a remedy that would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. Also the crown of immortality, either that of stars such as Ariadne or a laurel wreath of the Greek and Romans; the Egyptians had one too the Osiris-likened "crown of justification". The ankh.

There is also the philosophers' stone of Adam's line passed father to sons.

Norse mythology's gods had Iðunn who like Hebe seemed to be the source of their youth, rather than the apples she tended.

Like Myrddin said there is a lot of it out there.

In the ancient Greek myths, ambrosiavis sometimes the food or drink of the Greek gods, often related as conferring long lived or immortality upon whoever employed it.It was brought to the gods in Olympus by pigeon.

immortalization has always been a daydream for humans; the desire to avoid death is global, whether because of fear, a thirst for knowledge, or simply a love of living.
