Nordic symbols (help please)

hi! I have been carrying around this symbol with me for years now. It means a lot to me when I went through a really tough time. I started really getting into the history of Nordic culture. Now I am saddened to realize that maybe this symbol is not from the Vikings at all. Can anyone help me confirm the origin of it? Thank you.

The symbol is two chevrons parallel to each other with the point facing up. I was told it means "To create your own reality"

Chevrons are commonly used as military insignia to designate rank. This is still used in The United States of America today. However the chevrons history are military insignia rooting from heralding or grafting armory in both Germanic and Scandinavian regions.
