Well in Norse Mythology the world was created by an Ice Gian, I cant remember his name, but this is what happened.
There was an Ice Giant that was created by large glaciers, he melted part of himself to make other ice giant, and he also made a giant cow to feed them. The giants would feed the giant cow by letting it lick the salt out of the ice, soon hair started to form on the ice, and that created God's. Then the God's defeated the ice giant whose body created earth and his skull was the entrance to Asgard (Their Heaven) and etc.
