Did you know that humans can't walk in a straight line without a visible guide point (such as the sun, a tall building or a mountain)?

Scientists have shown that, if we lack visual cues to guide us, we tend to walk in circles. Many theories have been put forth for why this is so, but experiments that control for variables such as right-handedness, brain-side dominance, and more strength on one side come up with the same results: we tend to go in circles.
Why do you think causes this?
